Dr. Thomas Streed is an internationally recognized behavioral scientist, who is the founder and owner of Forensic Consultation International, a privately held company that consults throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Mexico, Central and South America regarding the investigation and analysis of criminal activity and violent behavior.
He is a former U.S. Marine, who received his Ph.D. in Human Behavior in 1983, while working as a Homicide Detective for the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, San Diego, California. He retired from the SDSO in 1991, and during the course of his twenty-four year career, he was involved in excess of two thousand death investigations ranging from suicides to sadistic-ritual murders, serial killings and mass murders. Dr. Streed is a licensed private investigator and often consults with Local, State, Federal and Military law enforcement agencies regarding the investigation of violent crimes. He frequently testifies in the State/Superior Courts, Federal Courts and Military Courts Martial, as an expert in such areas as crime scene analysis and interpretation, police use-of-force, military use-of-force (rules of engagement), drug-induced behaviors, and interrogation tactics and techniques.
